Singing Lessons in Romanian Foster Home

Some of the Romanian volunteers went at a partner foster home in Pitesti to teach four children how to sing two little songs about childhood. They started by explaining the lyrics, showed them the gestures that accompanied the story behind those lyrics. Firstly they sang together and then the children had the chance to perform by themselves in front of the volunteers, their educators and mates.
The team offered gifts to these children devoid of parental affection. The end of this visit was hard, because the volunteers became very familiar with these children.
Some of the volunteers share their impressions:
“On the other hand, we learned to appreciate more what we have, but on the other hand, we were sad because of their fate. For us-the volunteers, it was an experience which made us realize how important the people around us are.”
